Why oh why did I skip the flu shot?

Alright, so maybe skipping the flu shot wasn't the best idea I've ever had, during the time that everyone was running to the Doctors to get their flu shot I was on the internet reasearching the flu shot itself.

What I discovered was that most flu shots were contaminated just by the nature of incubation, huh?, I'm going to have someone inject an unclean serium into my body with no promis of it even working?

Sounded like voodoo to me so I also looked into the flu itself and what my chances of contracting it myself, after all my "research" I figured my chances were pretty low, so with my so called facts in hand I passed on the flu shot, just this one time.

I knew I was in trouble when I woke one morning with this thick sick feeling in my throat, good God, I somehow caught the darn flu.

It grew inside me like a monster unleashed from hell, the headache followed by the coughing that seemed to come from my toes and ripped through my body like shards of glass ending in my throat, or what was left of my throat.

As I lay in bed looking up at the ceiling wishing it would fall down and end my suffering I began to think of my poor ancestors and how they would have treated this envasion of the body, mind and soul.

I knew of the leaf called erba santa and that it would help with clearning the lungs. the only problem was that it wasn't something you could buy in the supermarket, oh well, once again, I'm screwed!

Next year I'll shove my way to the front of the line to get a darn flu shot, teaches me right for believeing everything I read on the internet...ugh, here comes the coughing fit followed by the chills that drive deep into the bones.

The flu may have caught me and kicked my butt this time but I shall raise again from my sick bed like a warrior of the germ world and wreak hell upon the box of tissues next to the night stand, I lifted my head to see a form approaching, was it death, come to take my number.

As the form came into view it was not Death but my Dear sick wife with Chicken Soup, even in her weakened state she was trying to care for me, that is love my friends, stronger than soup, the flu and the germ warfare that rages within.
